Obtaining a Grant of Probate or a Grant of Letters of Administration
Our team will assess whether a Grant of Probate or a Grant of Letters of Administration is necessary based on the circumstances. If the deceased did not leave a Will, we will guide you through the process of obtaining a Grant of Letters of Administration. However, in some cases where the estate is small, a Grant may not be required.
In addition, we can handle the task of informing the relevant authorities about the death on your behalf. We will also assist in calculating the potential Inheritance Tax by evaluating the assets of the deceased. If the tax is applicable, we will determine the amount that needs to be paid. Once the tax has been settled, we will proceed with the application for a Grant from the Probate Registry.
Estate administration
Once we have obtained the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, we will take care of the estate administration process. This includes gathering all the assets and settling any outstanding debts and liabilities of the estate. Our team will meticulously prepare comprehensive estate accounts and collaborate with residuary beneficiaries to obtain their approval.
Upon completion of all necessary tasks, we will make arrangements for the distribution of the estate to the beneficiaries. This distribution will be carried out according to the instructions outlined in the deceased’s Will. In cases where there is no Will, the distribution will be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Intestacy.
